Greetings everyone! I would like to, first and foremost, thank all of you for taking the time to read my musings and gripes as they relate to the current state of our political system.

Allow me to briefly introduce myself and discuss my background: I was born, raised, and currently reside in Huntsville, Alabama. I am currently pursuing my Master's in Political Science and my JD.
I have harbored a life-long interest in politics and have studied the political arena for years.

Alabama has several blogs that are informative and intruiging however, I feel that these blogs do not adequately express many of the issues that face the people of Alabama, and the nation as a whole. It is important to note in this first blog entry that I am not 'politically correct'. I do not back down from issues that many other bloggers are 'afraid' of, or merely mention as a footnote. I would also like this to serve as a forum for people who would like to discuss the pressing issues of the day with intellect and respect rather than partisanship and hatred. This blog is to be guided by the people! Whatever you would like to talk about is fair game for me and WILL be addressed. It is my lofty goal that this blog continue for longer than a week and become a, somewhat, active community. As a matter of fact, if the blog does become popular (and by that I mean two readers) I will create a formal website and forum.

Allow me to briefly outline a few of my key political beliefs so that there will be no confusion:
1) I support the soldiers from all branches of the U.S. military
2) I am a fiscal conservative
3) I am pro-life
4) I support the 2nd Amendment
5) I believe in small, limited government.
6) We need to drill domestically and we need to do it NOW! I also believe that it is our (the United States) responsibility to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
7) I believe a new tax code, or tax reforms, are necessary to reverse the current condition of our economy.
8)
'Bailing out' corporations and industries that self destruct is not under the purview of the United States government, nor should it be the responsibility of the American tax payer.

These are just a few of my key political beliefs and, I'm sure, as I post you will discover more. I believe now, more than ever, is the optimum time for this blog to begin because as many Americans as possible need their voice heard.

Again, this is my first attempt at blogging and, hopefully, it doesn't show too much! Please leave your comments and observations below

  1. Hey...nice blog. Just one question. Why the name "troll"? LOL...I see too many "trolls" on al.com. I have a lot of the same beliefs as you have listed above. Good luck with your blog!

  2. Hi Deb. Thanks for the great comment, I'm glad you like the blog. I chose the name 'troll' because I am a very short guy, and I thought it would be fitting. I'm not opposed to the occasional self-deprecating humor! LOL.
